15/02/2024 - I had the pleasure of joining a super talented group of musicians to record in Vancouver’s Iconic Warehouse Studio last October with Edmonton based singer-songwriter Kristian Crawford, and here is one of the videos from that day. I recorded bass and backing vocals for a couple of his soulful tunes, take a listen below!

31/12/2023 - 2023 has been the most incredible year of my life, and one full of personal and professional milestones.

As I look back on the year that was, I can't help but feel overwhelming gratitude for all of the wonderful people, places and opportunities that made up these past 365 days. To everyone that had a hand in making this year what it was, I say thank you from the bottom of my heart. I feel like the luckiest guy on earth getting to do what I love for a living, along with an all star cast of amazing people.

Happy new year and here's to an even bigger and better 2024!

08/11/2023 - Today marks the release of my dear friend Naghmeh’s new single “Burn”. I had the pleasure of recording bass on this song way back in 2021 at Freq Shop Studios in Montréal. Three years later and this awesome song finally has a chance to be heard. Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing this to life. Listen on Spotify Watch on Youtube

30/10/2023 - This past weekend I had the pleasure of joining an all-star crew of musicians and engineers at Bryan Adams' Warehouse Studio in Vancouver.

As a player these are the kind of sessions you dream about being a part of - the room sounded incredible (nicest studio I've ever recorded in), the band was excellent and it was so much fun to help bring these songs to life. The session was filmed as well so stay tuned for the release early in the new year!

28/09/2023 - Sharing some beautiful pictures from a few of our festival dates this past summer with the amazing 2 Rivers Remix series. It was a truly unforgettable experience to explore so many vibrant communities and cultures as well as meet so many talented indigenous artists from all over North America. All photos taken by the amazing Billie Jean Gabriel (https://billiejeangabriel.pic-time.com/portfolio)

06/09/2023 - That’s a wrap! And just like that, the busiest summer season of all time comes to an end. It’s been a whirlwind from start to finish and I’m beyond grateful for all the people, places and music that made these past few months truly unforgettable. Stay tuned for lots more exciting news coming up this fall!

01/08/2023 - Sharing some incredible shots from our performance at Vancouver Jazz Fest earlier this summer. This unforgettable evening was captured by the super talented Matt Taylor - (https://mjtphoto.org/work)

26/06/2023 - In a year that has already been jam packed with career highlights, this past weekend somehow managed to exceed everything thus far.

Having the opportunity to perform at two of Vancouver’s biggest summer festivals is an experience that I will never forget. Add to that an energetic return to the Friday night house band gig with What’s Next and you have all the makings of a truly mind blowing weekend. On top of all the playing, I also had the opportunity to take in several shows by amazing artists all over the city, as well as some high level jam sessions. The city is alive with the arts in a way I have not seen in a long time and I feel very lucky to be a part of all the madness.

All of this artistic immersion has me feeling two things: #1 I am the luckiest guy on earth and #2 I freakin’ love my job! Here’s to an amazing summer filled with tons more music and wonderful people.

19/06/2023 - The last month has been nothing short of a whirlwind.

It’s been such a treat to travel all over BC bringing the greatness of rock and roll to schools throughout the province. Reconnecting with so much of the music that I grew up on and getting to share it with enthusiastic students and teachers has been an experience that I will never forget. Huge thanks to Graeme and Chris for inviting me on this awesome tour - you two are the best!

Here are some numbers from this crazy month:

34 shows in 30 days, 8000+ kms of driving, 9 rounds of golf, 1 appearance on CBC, 0 rainy show days, countless high fives, student art and metal horns from the kids!

01/06/2023 - It’s been a whirlwind three weeks so far on tour with Speed Control. Shows all over BC have meant revisiting many amazing places and even discovering a few new ones. It has been such a pleasure bringing music to so many awesome kids throughout the province and seeing the power of rock and roll in education. Only two more crazy weeks of touring left to go before settling into a steady rhythm of shows in and around Vancouver for the summer.

01/05/2023 - Summer gigging season gets going this month!

Things get off to a great start this Friday as What’s Next gets set to take over as the new Friday night house band at The Blarney Stone in Vancouver. Come catch me there every Friday from here on out playing all the big hits from 10pm to 2am. Also starting May 16th I will be joining Whitehorse based band Speed Control on a month long tour of BC bringing their Rawk Edu program into schools all over the province!

Every Friday - Blarney Stone (Vancouver, BC)

May 16th to June 16th - Dates all over BC

20/04/2023 - It’s another release day! I had the pleasure of tracking bass on this awesome song by Alic Ward back at the end of last year (in the middle of a snow storm!). It was the last tracking session in Park Sound Studios original location and all of the mixing sessions were done in their shiny new location in Lower Lonsdale, North Vancouver. I’m excited for the world to hear this one, give it a listen here: Listen on Spotify

01/04/2023 - April gets off to a great start with a return to the amazing Ignite the Arts Festival in Penticton. I’m looking forward to a busy month with several sessions and preparation for an absolutely insane summer performance schedule. More details and exciting announcements to come in the weeks ahead. Stay tuned!

01/03/2023 - Looking forward to a busy month with teaching, recording sessions and some exciting out of town shows to prepare for.

15/02 - Check out this recent video stream from Ten Elephants Studios. They feature the song “Say Goodbye” by Alison Thorsteinsen - recorded way back in 2018 and it features yours truly on bass. Alison messaged me a few days ago to share that the hosts had a lot of praise for the bass tone on this song. The gear used for this recording was a Yamaha TRB bass with musicman style pickups run into a small compressor and DI’d into the board. It always so interesting to hear past recordings of your playing and I feel grateful to have received such positive feedback this many years later.

01/02/2023 - I’m looking forward to a busy and productive February along with many exciting opportunities to prep for in the months ahead. Come on by to one of these shows and say hi!

15/01/2023 - Still pinching myself after yesterday's performance. To play at Rogers Arena where I have seen so many of my biggest musical heroes perform over the years is an experience I will never forget. I feel truly blessed to do this for a living along with such an amazing group of talented friends. Massive thanks to the sound crew as well as Canucks Sports and Entertainment for the invite. It was a privilege to be a part of the production. Head over to the video page for lots of great footage of the event!

04/01/2023 - The first two months of the year are usually the slowest times on the gig front, especially after the craziness of the holiday season. It’s a good period for a bit of development and a much needed return to a regular practice routine. There are many exciting projects on the go and I’m looking forward to all of the opportunities that this new year has in store.

03/01/2023 - 2022 was in many ways an absolute dream come true. After a slow start to the year, restrictions on live shows finally lifted in March and since then it’s been a whirlwind. I feel truly grateful to be able to make music every day for a living and spend time in so many amazing places with even more amazing people. There were a lot of personal and professional milestones this year - these photos are but a small snapshot of the journey. Looking through all of these photos has brought a flood of positive memories and so much optimism for an even busier year ahead in 2023. Stay tuned!

14/12/2022 - I’ve received some awesome cards from students over the years but this one definitely takes the cake.

01/12/2022 - Gearing up for a busy month to finish the year! There are lots of private events at this time of year but I am excited to also be joining a number of talented artists all over Vancouver for several public events. Rounding out the year in style!

03/11/2022 - After a whirlwind October this month is definitely a bit quieter! I’m starting to prep for a busy December and holiday season already but in the meantime there are some great shows with some super talented people to fill up the gloomy start of the rainy season. Come down and say hi!

31/10/2022 - As October comes to an end here are some pictures from the recent Relive the Music tour of western Canada earlier this month. It was an amazing three weeks filled with wonderful people, great music and some of the nicest venues that I’ve ever had a chance to perform in. Onstage performance photo credit to George Bencze.

01/10/2022 - I’m beyond excited to announce that I’ll be spending most of October on the road touring western Canada with the amazing production Relive the Music. We’ll be doing 15 shows from Vancouver to Winnipeg and back in some incredible venues. Lastly I’ll be rounding out the month burning up the Hilton Burnaby ballroom dance floor with What’s Next. If you are in town for any of these shows please contact me for ticket info!

01/09/2022 - After the busiest summer of my life so far it is nice to have things be a bit more relaxed in the gig department for the first half of the month. The second half of the month gets busy quickly however and I am already gearing up for a crazy October with some super exciting announcements coming in the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned!

06/08/2022 - Having the opportunity to play the Harmony Arts festival twice in a week was an absolute dream come true. The setting, the people, the sound crew and even the perfect weather made these two shows truly unforgettable. Huge thanks to everyone involved. Stay tuned for more awesome August shows!

01/08/2022 - August is a bit quieter work wise but there are some big shows to note including another Harmony Arts appearance and an amazing festival in the Muskoka region of Ontario mid month. The end of the month will be busy and there are some big announcements coming for September. Stay tuned!

02/07/2022 - All of July’s shows are stacked into the 2nd half of the month but things are busy right from the start. I’ll be leading instrumental summer camps at Ava Music and Arts Centre starting on the 11th and there will be some new songs being tracked with Sam Jones as well. Stay tuned!

27/06/2022 - Just got back from Winnipeg and what a weekend it was. Thank you to Alan Greyeyes and the Sākihiwē Festival for having us in town to perform. Next show with Hayley Wallis and The Bright Futures will be at the Harmony Arts Festival in West Vancouver this summer. See you there!

01/06/2022 - June is off to a crazy start with lots of great show to look forward to (and possibly a couple more to be added too). The month even caps off with a special festival performance in Winnipeg. Summer is in the air and things are feeling good!

26/05/2022

Just getting back from a brief but wonderful trip to Toronto where I had the chance to see good friends and family, as well as finally pay a visit to the legendary 12th Fret on the Danforth. The shop was co-founded by Grant MacNeill and my late uncle Dan in 1977 and it is now one of the premier music stores/repair shops in the city. I was lucky to meet Grant and very grateful for the time that he took to show us around and recount some of the fascinating history of the place. Getting to try out some vintage basses was a nice way to finish the tour!

01/05/2022

April ended up being the busiest month in a long time with several live performances and sessions. May is getting off to a strong start as well with some bigger calibre shows and exciting new opportunities coming around!

01/04/2022

Excited for another busy of month of shows. More are on the way as well so stay tuned!

A radio date with local singer Hayley Wallis will be announced soon, as will shows with local neo-soul/groove band Samuel Jones’s Bright Future. And as always be sure to get in touch regarding lessons as there is still room for a couple more bass students in the weekly roster.

Well the 3rd edition of Femmes Pour Logifem is officially over and the response was absolutely mind blowing! With a grand total of $8765 raised on an initial target of $3500, it goes without saying that this event was beyond successful. A whole week of nightly virtual concerts featured some of Montréal’s best musical talent. You can find a link to the final video that capped off each night below, with an amazing cast of artists and their pets showcasing their dancing abilities.

Today marks the release of Burlington, Vermont based artist Laci Harmon’s debut single “Siren”. Tim recorded the bass on this track earlier this year (from New Zealand no less!) and there have already been many positive reviews. The track is available on all streaming platforms, including Spotify here.

Well this year has certainly not gone according to plan so far. I know that is the case for so many all over the world right now but there are some glimmers of hope as we slowly transition into summer. As is the case for most musicians in Canada right now the prospect of live concerts is almost non existent for this summer and potentially right through to the end of the year. The proliferation of free live streaming concerts has been one silver lining however and it has been amazing to see many of our musical heroes give performances in such intimate and approachable settings.

On Saturday July 4th I will be joining the Victoria band Provinces for a live streamed performance from the legendary Showroom Bar in Duncan, BC. We were originally slated to perform that day as part of the 39 Days of July music festival but the current situation will not allow for festivals this summer. Fear not however as the organizers have done a wonderful job of putting together this live stream concert series and many bands from the festival will be featured during the month of July. Tune into the facebook live event at 5pm on July 4th to see some fun west coast blues rock!

Holy smokes Batman! What a crazy month it has been so far. I was able to get home from New Zealand after having all my original flights cancelled at the last minute. As the world continues to shut down we should all take this time to reflect on what is truly important, ie. family and friends, the people that matter. A big thanks to health workers who continue to work tirelessly during this pandemic.

As of now it looks as though all scheduled shows for the spring season will be cancelled. This is very unfortunate but I am grateful to be home in Canada and I look forward to resuming a busy work schedule once this madness blows over. Stay safe!

It’s been a busy last twelve months! In addition to earning his bachelor’s degree in music (with great distinction) Tim has been featured on three releases in that time. The first was his debut EP “Take Note (There’s Still a Hole in Your Heart)”. Second was the July release of the debut self titled album by Montréal folk rock band Naghmeh and the Southern Shores, where Tim features on bass, keyboards and backing vocals. Finally, this week saw the release of Australian songwriter Alison Thorsteinsen’s debut album “Sometimes I’m there”. Tim plays bass on this record. Be sure to check out all the new music and stayed tuned for more in the upcoming months as he is currently tracking bass for another fantastic Montréal/Vermont artist!
