Tim Charman is a Vancouver, BC based professional musician and educator. Originally from Vancouver, Tim currently divides his time between the Canadian west coast and Montréal when not on tour. He is involved in numerous musical projects covering a wide variety of styles and mediums. He holds a Bachelor of Music Degree from Concordia University in Montréal, where he studied both jazz and classical theory and performance.

The majority of Tim’s career has been in the performance/recording realm. He has extensive live performance experience across Canada and the United States as well as in Colombia and New Zealand - performing at festivals, arenas, clubs, corporate functions, weddings and more. Current ongoing collaborations include artists Hayley Wallis, Anushka Kashyap, The Bright Futures Band, What’s Next, OK!Fun!, Curds N Whey and The Dimes. Past collaborations include artists and productions such as Relive the Music, Samuel Jones, Lauren Mann, Ben Mink, Adam Dobres, Naghmeh and the Southern Shores, We Once Were Trees and Subtle Like a T-Rex. An electric bassist first and foremost, Tim also performs and records regularly on guitar, mandolin, piano, drums/percussion and voice.

In addition to a busy performance schedule, Tim is also a songwriter who writes guitar driven Indie-folk music with lyrics that reflect on travel, relationships and motion. He released two EPs of original music in the Spring of 2019. You can find his music on all major streaming platforms.

Adventure Travel 

Tim is an avid adventure touring motorcyclist/cyclist and in the past decade he has logged over 50,000 kilometres on two wheels throughout North and South America. Finding inspiration and artistic motivation through motion, Tim has spent countless hours covering some of the most spectacular terrain that this world has to offer, while capturing thousands of photos and hours of video footage.
